Refined 1940s carnival glass beaded thermoset handbag. It is rare that a seed box bag of such an early origin remains in an amazing condition. The oblong-shaped purse features a tortoiseshell-tone thermoset lid, molded into an elegant scallop Venus shell shape. The body (including the base of the purse) and handle of the purse is covered in highly-polished black carnival glass beads. The strap is entirely beaded in glittering carnival glass, so as to compliment the fully-beaded, wonderfully textured body of the purse. The purse interior is lined with a flocked walnut suede - like fabric and contains a small open pocket. The piece has gold-tone hardware, including a push bottom spring clasp and flat nail heads. Great as a jewelry box as well!
